The Night Before The Underwater Menace Came Out

Twas the night before The Underwater Menace came out, when all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a yeti. The remotes were placed by the TV with care, in hopes that Troughton would soon be there.

The Whovians were nestled all snug in bed, with visions of McCrimmion's filling their heads; And Victoria in her jacket and Jamie in his kilt had just settled down on my new DVD shelf.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter. Away to the window I flew like the Flash, tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the newly paved roads, gave the luster of midday to objects below, when what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a big blue box and a mad man driving it.

With a little old driver so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be him. More rapid than eagles his companions they came as he called out to them by name:

"Now, Zoey and Jamie come over here quick! Bring Victoria, Ben, and Polly with you, right - quick! Don't forget about Benton or the Brigadier! Gather them all up and then get over here!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly, when they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky; So up to the house the companions they ran, towards the were the T.A.R.D.I.S. and the Doctor awaited them.

And then, in a twinkling , I heard at the door the pounding and knocking of each little finger. As I drew in my head and was turning around,  in the door came the Doctor with a bound.

He was dressed in all fur, from his head to his foot, and his clothes were all tarnished oil and soot. A bundle of parts he had flung on his back, and he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes, how they twinkle! His hands, so quick! His clothes so worn, his soul so old! His droll little mouth drawn up like a bow, and the hair of his head was as round as beatle.

He was young but old, a right fun elf, and I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself. A wink of his eye and a nod of his head soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work, he counted all stories, then turned with a jerk, and grabbing the story, and setting it down, out he went.

He sprang to his T.A.R.D.I.S., to his crew gave a shout, and away they went like the down of a thistle. But I heard him exclaim, ere he materialised away,

Enjoy the story everyone, it's the earliest one I've got!
